“Two roads diverged in a wood and I – I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.” – Robert Frost
This quote beautifully reflects my own journey and how I came to be the person and therapist I am today.
Having gone through my own darkness during childhood and adolescence and finding my way back to the light, I realized that my passion and purpose is to provide a space where young people can explore their inner world and express their experience so that they don’t have to suffer unnecessarily through life’s inevitable challenges. When any client comes to my office, I want to help them feel safe, connected, and whole.
I have a Master’s Degree of Arts in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University. I have worked extensively in judicial, day treatment, and residential settings to help children and adolescents identify and express their feelings, change self-destructive behavior, learn to self-regulate, and achieve their goals.
I’m dedicated to encouraging and promoting my client’s emotional and mental well-being by helping them cultivate greater self-awareness, acceptance, and authentic expression. While I deeply believe in harnessing the transformative powers of these characteristics, I also recognize the importance of teaching practical skills and coping tools to regulate through difficult moments and thrive in all areas of life.
My style as a therapist is collaborative, fluid, and dynamic. Though trained in mindfulness-based methods, I work from a trauma-informed, neurobiological and holistic perspective and apply a comprehensive accumulation of modalities including play, yoga, somatic, cognitive-behavioral, Positive psychology, and existential approaches to psychotherapy. I honor each individual that I work with and strive to help them see how awesome they truly are.
There is always room to grow and change. But sometimes we have to let go of the stories and behaviors that don’t work in order to see how beautiful we really are.
